The monkeys were introduced to the area in the 1930s by a local cruise operator, Colonel Tooey’s Jungle Cruise, which released 12 monkeys over a series of years onto a man-made island inside Silver Springs State Park.

And so it begins....

First we have hogs as a nuisance and now we have monkeys? I'm thinking they are small and #4 lead will dispatch them fairly easy.

I live on the edge of Apopka in a wilderness area and I have a small place at St Augustine Beach and I’ve never seen them nor have I ever heard of anybody seeing monkeys in either area.

We do have Peacocks all over the area which are not a native species.

You might be able to trick one of these monkeys into having sex with you.
