Route to Houston

I know this has got to be German but what is the best route to drive to Houston. It seems like everything I read online is a day old. I know things change minute to minute. I plan on leaving tomorrow night around 9:30pm. Is there any bridges open or is going way up to Shreveport and cutting down the only way. I don't want to drive to a bridge I think is open and be sadly mistaken. Any advice is great. Plane tickets are 900 right now so that is difficult to do for 2 people.
I know stay at home is the best answer but unfortunately that isn't an option.
EDT: Driving from Baton Rouge to Houston

I thought that West Bound was open. If not you could always go to Alexandria and cut over or cut over on Toledo. Shreveport would be your best option for just being able to drive without tons of traffic and BS.

From BR?
I10 to Sulphur, Hwy 27 south to Hwy 82, cut across to Port Arthur. We've been sending all our trucks on this route all day. No issues with the exception of some traffic delays. My dad actually just ran it. Lafayette to Winnie in 4 hours and they had to wait an hour behind a wreck.

Slight hijack:
Heading over there from mobile Friday for a wedding.
Any reports if 10 will be open by then?

They're expecting it to reopen possibly on Saturday.

This is probably the best route. Then take 73 to Winnie and you are back on 10 almost to Houston.

I am hoping this stays open. Coming to b.r. early Saturday morning.

Southwest from MSY to HOU has a 10:30 flight tomorrow night for less than $250 a ticket if that's an option

$900 for a plane ticket from BR to Houston? Is this a private jet?

I looked it up earlier. Round trip from HOuston to b.r. leaving Friday and returning on Sunday was $888. If I wanted to return on Monday it went down to $165.

Depends on where you are going in Houston. The south route, Hwy 27/82 is heavily used in the morning and afternoon by locals who live in TX and work at LA plants and vice-versa. If you are going to the north side of Houston, it's is probably best to take Hwy 190 thru DeRidder and into Jasper.

Texas Governor said today I-10 may not open for 6 days because several inspections have to be done. Hwy 12 will be longer than that.

LaDOTD recommends heading north to shreveport, then cross over and head further north-east to Oklahoma City, then start making your way down through Dallas.
