Do the make high powered electric motorcycles? I can ride a bike but I can't shift a motorcycle. This is the only thing stopping me from getting one. Like an electric Ducati?

Dude I wish. I have a buddy who’s trying to start a high end electric motorcycle company, think more R6. But it’s a packaging nightmare. There’s just not much space for the storage unit and everything else you need even though the motors are stupid small.

Yeah, I was talking about the cost of the consumer. It paid for itself from his perspective. But yeah, it sounds like the overall benefit of this endeavor is pointless, as I'm admittedly learning in this thread. And since you decided to be a dick about it, frick YOU!

You do realize that you paid for part of his solar panels. What kind of return did you see?

Why? What benefit does a gas powered weedeater have over a battery powered weedeater
Smeg probably tried a cheap 20v trimmer/blower, rightfully concluded that they suck, but wrongfully concluded that his experience applies to 60v tools.

Yeah the government incentives were why I did it. And yes they paid off quickly.

Without the incentives I wouldn't have done it

Nah bruh. I'm mad because you are picking on the MDC guy. Sure, it's kinda sus that I don't know how to ride a motorcycle, but a good thing coming out of all the EV shite is that E-motorcycles are coming. And I'm not talking about that 30mph Amazon shite. I have a need.

Which benefit do you like the most?

The power. In my experience the electric tools have been limp twisted, like yourself.

You obviously have not used the ~60v trimmers/blowers by Ego or similar. They have all the power of gas tools plus I am working nearly 100% of the time I am holding them vs. maybe 85% of the time with gas tools with the rest spent doing unnecessary maintenance and refueling and such.

I know you weren't talking to me but you can call me limp-wristed all you want. My battery tools are tools and I use them to get shite done. I don't care to putz around doing maintenance just so it will work next time I need it.

What did he get? The ITC, a local grant, a doe grant? You can’t make that statement without knowing and I’m asking a legitimate question.

100 watt solar panel. It costs less than $200 and can power 30 amps. So a Refrigerator, TV, a window unit, and a couple of lights

You’re only talking about running amps and are leaving out an important part.

Electrical devices have a nameplate rating of “locked rotor amps” or “inrush current” and is usually higher on pieces of rotating machinery. This is the entire reason generators seem like they are oversized. They have both a full-load rating and a “surge” rating. A 20kW generator can power 2 or 3 AC compressors if the compressors are already running. But it may not have the juice to turn on all 3 successively. There are some ways to reduce inrush but most people don’t utilize that.

Plus solar panels do not provide VARs (reactive power) which is needed for rotating machinery. If your system does not have a large enough inverter or rectifier it won’t be able to start that window unit.

Motor-driven generation has a multitude of advantages.

Aiggght man. Not picking on the less fortunate whatsoever. Ok here you go. Don’t blame me when you spend $25k and then some for your need.

You can scratch that itch go get yourself one of these bad boys. Oh and you can definitely go a bit faster than 30.

It's nice having a $50 electric bill in the summer when it's 108 out and my neighbors are paying $500+

What Size Solar System do you have?
