I have heard from several people that State Farm is the worst company to have homeowners insurance through. They will constantly deny hail storm claims. I know a guy who brought his buddy lawyer on to dispute their denial and they ended up paying out but called it vandalism so that no neighboring homes would be able to claim hail.

What sucks is that the insurance company itself is leveraging the agent’s relationships and reputation to close and maintain a contract they have every intention of trying to get out of if called upon.
It also sucks people with used up 3 tabs are trying to get insurance to cover paying for a hella aged roof. People like this will probably replace their roof with 3 tabs again, to save maybe $10 a square. Like they say, there's bad people on all 3 sides. Only roof damage I'm touching for insurance requires structural damage.
Storm chasing roofers are every bit the leeches ambulance chasing attorneys are. Insurance rates are retarded high, and folks are getting dropped on the reg, because the insurance folks played along for so long. And homeowners are just cheap fricks who don't want to pay out of their pocket for old, beat up shingles. It's quite the trinity.

I remember my parents going round and round with State Farm over a roof repair after Hurricane Opal when I was a kid.
My dad was probably not very far away from going on a murderous rampage when all that was going down. When I bought my first house, I told him I got SF I surance as a joke and thought I gave him a heart attack.

If the insurance company insured the roof the policy holder is entitled to be indemnified for the covered loss; There’s no way a 16yr old roof is reparable without issues with even very limited damage.

I was waiting for the roofer to toss white Jake off the roof.

I'm not saying they get nothing, but 3 tabs are only "rated for 20 years." Getting 16 years out of them is relatively miraculous, in most areas. Their "wind damage" should be pro-rated af, at best.

That roofer can get it.
More proof you're not a lady.

From my experience, at 3:39 the inspector loses bearings and is lucky he didn't find himself on the ground.

I didn’t actually see proof of anything in that video….the roofer is just a whole lot more aggressive in his arguments.

I went at it with Allstate for 6 months for them to replace a condensor crushed by softball sized hail. They lied, cheated, hired "experts" to say it was ok. Basically everything in their power to frick me. I made it to a vice president before they paid it off.
I told them I would pursue it to court or arbitration, i had them dead ti rights per their written procedures and contract.
Theyre lying fricking scum trash.

The trend for many carriers now seems to be sending a structural engineer right behind the field adjuster to ultimately screw you over. Pay close attention to this bought and paid for "engineer," more times than not it's a paper pusher guy that shows up in $200 dress shoes with no intention of really getting his hands dirty, getting on the roof, using a moisture meter etc. He's there only a predetermined outcome mission to deny or severally throttle back your recoverable amount as the deck is stacked against you when these dipshites come out to your property.
Yep. I've (I'm a SE) written many reports for homeowners to refute the boilerplate nonsense these guys put out. But, I've had a couple of homeowners that try to claim damage from a fallen tree on the house that likely was not cause of the damage. Chit like that. I'm done writing hurricane reports after Ida. Not worth the trouble.

Chubb might be the only decent HOI out there.

That dumb prick said "is it branded state farm?"
Wow! He seems like some jackass who got the job not because he was qualified but because his daddy knows someone. How do they send a dumbass like that out in the field.
The dude just straight up lied "I didn't touch that".

State Farm has in house adjusters... they essentially pay these folks not to find damage. Find insurance companies with independent adjusters.
This times a bajillion
In house inspectors aren’t your friend

I have had State Farm for30 years. They replaced my entire roof and covered a rebuild and replace of the entire inside of my house after Katrina due to water damage from my roofing material being shredded. They even paid me for living expenses for 7 months until the house was completed. For Ida, they paid for a new roof in addition to a fallen tree and fence replacement. State Farm has been wonderful to me and I will sing my praises to them till the day I die. Just one person’s experience.

Me either. I was waiting for the adjuster to say “Yep. I see it now. You’re right. I’m wrong. Full roof replacement granted!”
He didn’t. He stayed firm to his original decision. Now, that adjuster is a tool who should have never said a word, but nothing that roofer did actually proved anything
