So much for a man having convictions and morals.

Blueboy, I like you man I really do so please take this criticism as constructive and not antagonistic. You seem to spend a lot of time figuring out who's on your side and who's against you instead of discussing the actual issues that are supposed to matter. If you talk about any specific issue from tax code to abortion, you'll probably find you agree about a lot more than you disagree about.

This "us against them" stuff just leads to yelling not exchanging ideas.

Just my two cents, also HS=HR.

Thought the kool-aid analogy worked.....Kool-aid = religion

Christian religion = light religion/no penalty for no following the rules to a T

Islamic Extremists = heavy/extreme religion - strictly follow the written word to a T (ex gays are to be killed)

Is that what you were getting at ballscaster

Hunter Maats is the guest, it's live right now. Just turned to it and he says, "so basically what you see is that the south has the same culture as these Muslim countries"
Joe says "but certainly not the same extent"
Maats says "no but the whole thing with honor killings and so forth"

I don't know about honor killings, but ISIS and southern christians have very similar views on gays and gay marriage. I seen't it here fo sho.

The South had a code and rules about that. Manly Honor Part V: Honor in the American South.

There's nothing manly or honorable about what those ISIS/L fricks and their Hollar-at-the-Snackbar friends do.

I will say that violent showcase lynchings, like the Sam Hose case, are similar to a degree, but even in that case there was some supposed offense that spurred the behavior. In other words, the degree of violence and savagery might have been because of race, but the act of revenge or the killing itself was because of a rape, assault, murder, etc., not because he happened to be of a different religion.

Christianist extremists exist, and some of them are on this board. Their kool-aid is sugar-free and watered down, whereas the Islamist extremists' kool-aid is spiked with hundreds of pixie sticks and hymen blood.

I have no idea what an honor killing is but as a southerner I would obviously love to participate in one

at everyone in this thread jerking off to honor killings when they don't know what they are.

An honor killing is when a man kills his daughter or sister for "dishonoring" the family. In some parts of some Muslim countries such a killing is seen as justified, and the killer is not punished.

Women can basically be killed for any reason or no reason at all. Inappropriate clothing, flirting, going to night clubs, whatever behavior the man perceives as "dishonoring" the family.

I still find it comical how people still just stereotype the south like everyone who lives here is a red neck or someone from Duck Dynasty.

Percentage of people in the south who are rednecks or Duck Dynasty types >>>>>>>>>>>>> percentage of Muslims who are terrorists

What's wrong with rednecks and duck dynasty types?

Unfortunately, the site has a character limit on posts, however, that is irrelevant as I did not say anything good or bad about them. I said that it is much more valid to stereotype southerners as rednecks and Duck Dynasty types than to stereotype muslims as terrorists.

So you're comparing duck dynasty to Islamic terrorism?

That's fair.

Well, Tuscaloosa, anyway. Not the rest of the South, generally.

Rogan in particular is bad about such regional generalizations. Have heard him do the same bit about the South my about Texans.

He's entertaining, but he's also an idiot.
