Pool pump wouldn’t work , remote either. Went to outside pool pump box. Damm rat made nest and ate almost every wire. Question, what can I do to keep rodents away from box. We live in the woods, have found one nesting in BBQ pit also.

Rats have a powerful sense of smell. You can repel rats from your home and garden with scents they dislike, such as clover, garlic, onion, hot peppers containing capsaicin, house ammonia, used coffee grounds, peppermint, eucalyptus, predator (cat) scent, white vinegar, and citronella oil.

Never understood why rats/mice like to chew on wires.

We had Florida roof rats nesting in the attic. My first instinct was to burn down my house and start over but we hired a professional service.

Once they trapped and sealed off the area, they used coyote pheromones to keep them from coming back. It was like a bomb they put off in the attic. But there may be some form you can use to keep those mofos away.

Yes our pool board ate lots of wires. Pool guy said low voltage won’t kill then but gets them excited.

They build their nests or use it as shelter. I don’t think they try to eat them probably trying to move or also them thinking they could use them. I live next to a field and occasionally have a mouse sneak in to the garage. Our furnace is out there and we put peanut butter on mouse traps.

1 cat will take care of all your rodent issues. And birds, frogs, lizards and squirrels.

Their teeth never stop growing and they grow fast. Like your nails but faster.

Irish Spring Soap (bar form). Works great for squirrels too.
