Why not just shoot them.

I don't understand why it's not open season year round by any means necessary if the pythons are actually eradicating 95% of the mammals in areas of the everglades.

That's what these robot rabbits are designed for. The rabbits themselves are just bait to entice pythons to come out of hiding so a human can then shoot them

I have come to the conclusion that Florida really isn't serious about eliminating these pythons. If they were truly serious, they wouldn't have such ridiculous regulations and rules on how to catch and kill them off.

Sounds like the problem is about to solve itself.

Hiding? Have you seen videos of these guys that catch them? You can just walk around and find them they are all over.

Peta says they'll take the robot even if the pythons have eaten virtually all of rats, rabbits, foxes, possums, racoons and lots of other native wild life.

Do we have a scoreboard yet so we can track how the bunnies are doing?

From what I’ve read the ones that are easy to find are a minority.

There’s apparently exponentially more that hide so good you can walk by and not notice them.

I suspect that the avoidance of going to poisoned live bait will remain in place until something really horrific happens like a python eating a child.

You think the PETA types who love furry animals with big brown eyes give a shite about human children? They abort them by the millions.

Yeah, I'm sure they show all the hundreds of hours they spend training, searching, baiting, prepping, etc., and don't just edit them down to the cool parts. YouTube channels are notoriously accurate and reliable.

People don't just tramp around the neighborhoods (even swamps) of South Florida stepping on pythons all the time lol.

In general, pythons are ambush hunters of live prey. They have to be good at hiding to do that.

No they aren't "just all over" and you damn sure can't just walk around and find them

I live in Florida and frequent all areas of the state on a regular basis as part of my career. Even deep in the backwoods and swamps, all over the state. I don't recall ever seeing a large python in the wild

Take notes, kids. When you don't know something, don't try to talk about it like you do.
