I work in global freight. The market rate to lease a charter aircraft that large right now is somewhere between $1.2-1.5M. Have to imagine the fuel cost for a 30 hour round trip is much less expensive and doing so saved the Governor a shite load of emergency aid money for MA.

Well, commercial airliners would primarily be carrying passengers who could transmit the disease. Here, you have an aircraft carrying cargo (i.e., emergency supplies) not 100+ people.
