o, your endorsement on the back of the check obligates you in the event the check is forged.

In that event, the bank can charge the amount of the check back to your account.

I have no idea why this is downvoted. Have had this happen before when I sold something. Check was forged and the money was taken from my account because I had cashed the check.

Is it difficult to use chase quick pay if neither party has a chase account?

The sender has to have a Chase account.

Try Dwolla.

i don't see why you wouldn't just send the money on there as a "gift." don't over complicate this.

You could try Venmo.

In this day and age, checks are dumb.

I'll bump this thread instead of starting another, but...

Where can I get a Non-USPS Money Order cashed?

A different guy sent me a Money Order from "North American Money Order Company" payable through "BancFirst, Stratford, Oklahoma". Google search doesn't show any bad things about these companies. So where can I cash this thing? Walmart? From what I undersand, I could deposit it in my checking account, but I don't want to take any chances with it being linked to my account. What is the difference between a non-USPS MO and a cashiers check?

And of note on the first guy's payment. He ended up sending me a Cashiers check through Chase. I was able to get it cashed at Chase (where I don't have an account) with just two forms of ID, all before I shipped out the sold items.
