This is generally always true.
Libertarians skew young because it's a very immature ideology. It's popular among college-aged people in particular, as it is at a period in life for a lot of these people where they're experiencing their first bits of responsibility and freedom, yet are still mostly tethered to their parents for financial support.
A lot of them conflate that with personal self-reliance.

This is the result of two things:
1. The notion that everyone has to go to college
2. The transformation of our colleges from institutes of higher learning into progressive/socialist propaganda camps.
Thus, whereas kids use to go to college and get an actual education, now more than anything they receive political indoctrination. Gen Z is the fruition of the plan progressives have strived for since the early 20th century.

Not only that, but they criticize liberals for thinking with emotions instead of facts, when they are the biggest believers in Christianity, which is entirely crazy and baseless unless you think purely emotionally.
