A lot of the replies in this thread are disturbing. I am sorry that we have fallen to this level of discourse.
It used to be that people could disagree and still respect one another. I voted for McCain in 2008. I didn't agree with everything he said, but I thought him the better candidate.
I haven't agreed with everything McCain has said and done since his election loss. But the man served his country in the most divisive of our wars. He spent years in a North Vietnam prisoner of war camp. He suffered torture and was permanently disfigured as a result. He could have gotten out early based on the fact that his father was an admiral, but declined.
He served his country in the Senate and followed his conscience in his votes. I didn't agree with them all, but I respected him. He was a "Maverick" and, while I didn't care for that I understood it.
We need to return to the days when we could disagree without being totally disagreeable. I'm not sure that will ever happen and we will be the worse for it.
R.I.P., Senator.
Great post

Everyone aboard the Forrestal confirm he wet started his plane.
His father was Admiral. Pretty easy for him to cover up the official file.

A man who had no principles and stood for nothing, baited his voters and then did a 180 on them once he was elected is your favorite politician?
No principles? And he stood for nothing? He understood how dangerous it was for government to be influenced by special interest and he wasn't afraid to go against party lines because he put country ahead of party.
And what politician doesn't try to appeal to their voters while campaigning? There is a president in office who once said there would build a wall on the American/Mexico border and construction would begin the first month he is office.

I’m not a huge Trump fan, but this would’ve been done if others in his party would cooperate. They don’t like him because he isn’t

What the frick is wrong with some of you people? Sure you might not agree with some of the man's policies or political beliefs, but the man served his country & was a POW for years. That's more than most of you can say. Have some respect
