IDK about dogs, but chiropractors for horses are definitely a thing.

Both are real things. The look on pitbuls face after a neck adjustment is pretty comical. Plenty of videos on YT. But they are like crack. Watch 1 and you will be there 3 hours watching the next video.

He also might have fallen, broken something, and couldn’t get himself up

Pretty sure they said he wasn't injured from a fall, in the press conferences.

Sure, I guess there's a specialty for everything. Our Vet is trained in animal acupuncture. She works with horses and dogs mostly. Our dachshund had severe spinal issues and this helped her mobility for quite a while. Honestly, it wasn't too expensive compared to surgery that had no guarantee of a good outcome. I would recommend you look into it if your dog has spinal issues causing temporary or onset paralysis from injury or old age.

my current best guess:

- she had a medical emergency/heart attack/something along those lines and died
- he has dementia or alzheimers and was unable to figure out how to call for help or take care of himself and died later
- the dog starved to death

This whole scenario is very plausible. It's no secret that Hackman's health was in serious decline and he was frail as hell for a while now and I don't doubt for a minute he was suffering from some sort of mental incapacity at his age.

No doubt the dog either starved to death or died due to not being able to get to drinking water. Most animals can live far longer without food than they can without water.

It’s laughable about the punkass kids not checking in. I would bet my last $$ that they are all over the will/trust right now

Answer to Gene Hackman's death A report from the police concluded that Gene Hackman's wife passed away from Hanatavirus and his advanced Alzheimers left him in a state of confusion/stress where he died from a cardiac arrest. The dog starved.

Seems he died a week after her, probably looking for her and discovering her body multiple times over… frick Alzheimer’s, what a horrible sad cruel disease
