I never understood why anyone equates MLK to the 2nd coming of Jesus. He was by no means a saint.

Of course he wasn’t, but those words are in the spirit of Christ, and the actions we are seeing on display today are the opposite of Christ, and that’s the point.

The statues removed all the hatred and racism. This is Covid displeasure.

Most of you people really don't fully understand the legacy of King. You focus on one thing he said. And thats often misquoted.

Huh? He was inspired by Gandhi. He didn’t lead any violent protests.

Great legacy? that dude was full of shite along with his quotes and speeches. Nothing but a fundamentally flawed hack talking a bunch of nonsense. Didn't he assist in a rape or some shite like that too.

Doesn't mean he didn't speak towards violence.

I'm not discrediting what he stood for or what he did. Just saying that it wasn't peace and nothing but peace.

Here's one thing MLK had to say about riots:

quote:

“Let us say boldly that if the violations of law by the white man in the slums over the years were calculated and compared with the law-breaking of a few days of riots, the hardened criminal would be the white man. These are often difficult things to say but I have come to see more and more that it is necessary to utter the truth in order to deal with the great problems that we face in our society.”

If MLK was here today, he'd almost certainly say something along the lines that a lot of black leaders have been saying. "I don't agree with it or condone it, but I understand it"
