I don't have a dog in this fight but police can't stop and search someone because they have been called in by a third party

Honestly, nice try. And I would agree with you if this case involved govt overreach, but I just don't see where it does. Now, I never came after you here and I respect your opinion, but I don't share it. It's ok though. It's healthy to disagree on things.

They're called bc someone is acting "suspicious" and have a duty to investigate. It's common practice to pat down the person just to make sure the situation is safe. Imagine if they don't, and he decides to start shooting. Big mess that was totally avoidable.

They'll stop them to investigate and might search them to ensure their safety. With all the recent attacks on cops, this shouldn't be seen as a problem. Again, these cops really really did act in a very professional, respectful manner.

Recent attacks on police officers has nothing to do with what I'm asking you

I know man. I used that as an example of why police should absolutely search someone they're investigating.

Bull shite. There was nothing respectful about their manner. They knew who they were talking to in the first 30 seconds. They established his motivations and actions in the first 90 seconds. Did they speak professionally? yes. did they act professionally? No. They did not. They treated him as a threat and suspect well beyond the point of establishing who he was and why he was there.

He complied with every one of their requests with zero hesitation. Yet they treated him like a criminal every second of the conversation. I do believe we are still a country with a law of innocent until proven guilty. In this case, they treated him like a criminal the entire time. I believe that to be racially motivated, but I could be wrong and these guys may just be a bunch of gung-ho assholes.

I don't fault them for following up on a call. But to say they proceeded professionally is not accurate. That stop took way longer than was necessary. Especially when everyone of those dudes knew exactly who he was.

My theory is they knew who it was before they even stopped him and decided to have some good-ole boy fun. That's not a stretch of the imagination by any means when you consider it was happening in Tyler.

My guess is, they were hoping to find some weed on him and get their 'big celebrity score.'

that dude is bat shite crazy and has a bit of a past, don't you think they had to sort out the situation to make sure he wasn't about to go all Ricky Williams instead of just asking for an autograph and walking away?

He could just call up Master P to handle the situation for him. He knows how to negotiate.

What do you mean "go all Ricky Williams"? He's got a past history where he's known as a space cadet. He doesn't have any sort of violent background.

That's funny as hell! It brought to mind when I working with my Dad coming home on I-10 E when they had those terrible plants in the neutral ground. He pulled on the shoulder grabbed a roll of toilet paper and took a crap. I laughed at him the rest if the way home. Of course; he told me "go ahead and laugh, your days are coming."
