Semi autos are just as reliable as wheel guns, have larger ammo capacity, and can be accessorized far easier

Taurus makes some great revolvers and won’t break the bank

Unless it's a hi pernt or something I agree. I have a Ruger 45 that I've had for 20 years, put 100s of mags through and it's never malfunctioned once on me.

Cops and Seals carry semi autos with their lives depending on their reliability.

Wouldn't worry... That Ruger LCP is just fine.

But if you just have too... you can pick up a Rossi .38 with larger rubber grips for about $250.

I literally has nothing to do with the type of pistol you get. It’s 100% the person holding it.

You are still going to have to hit your target

I'd put money on the Glock especially if it's a G17.

It's not the homes in the ghetto that get targeted for invasion there, smartass.

I have a Ruger LCR with a Crimson Trace laser sign in the grip. Always heard that revolvers were better in close quarters because the recoil or gas feeding may be blocked (point blank range in the gut/clothing, etc). Shotguns are great as long as they don't have time to knock the barrel out of the way. That being said, I had a cop tell me one time that the sound of a round being chambered in a shotgun is nearly 100% effective in getting an intruder the hell out of your house.

Also have a Remington 870 Tactical just in case.

Shotgun for home defense myths,

Just point and shoot, aim is not critical ,

Less chance of wall penetration.

The pattern of even the shortest barrel shotgun at the distances encountered in the average home will be so small you could easily miss without aiming just as you would a long gun.

LINK

12ga #8 birdshot will penetrate two standard interior home walls and have enough velocity remaining to fatally injure someone on the other side of the second wall.

Pump action 12 gauge for home defense. Revovlers are super dependable, but no ideal for home defense. Semi-automatics jam if it’s a shite brand or you don’t clean it.

Yeah, the Biden is strong with this one LOL...

I keep a 9mm semiauto in my nightstand, but I've been considering a change. Over-penetration is a bigger deal to me than "stopping power." I have a revolver in .22 Magnum and I'm starting to think I should keep that loaded in the nightstand instead. A .22 Magnum "V-Max" varmint load has plenty of power but won't overpenetrate.
