I'm not going to read the article, but I find money speaks the loudest.
If people are offended by the way these clubs are run, take your money else where. Black, white, or anyone else. This isn't the 1950's. There are plenty of bars and clubs that will gladly take my money.

Reveille Opinion Article: Tigerland dress code discriminates against blacks
This article is probably written every couple of years for the last 20. I can remember the exact editorial written back in the early 2000s when I was there. The dress code is not racist and it will never be changed.

Maybe minimizing the "hood" black crowd is good for business? I knew several black guys at LSU that would dress in line with the dress code in tigerland.

Football players and entourage couldn't get in over Auburn weekend and that escalated into some tomfoolery that was thankfully kept hush hush. I wonder if they were wearing white Air Force 1s? Are these dress codes directly endangering the LSU football team's success?

It's been like this since the late 90s. We just have way more sensitive pussies running around the world these days. Don't like it? Go open your own fricking bar or move the frick out of 'Merica.
So you are one of those southern white men that is okay with watching black athletes bring football championships to your school, but if the same athletes are discriminated against because of their color at an establishment that conducts business so close to campus, you don't care? What if #LF7 was denied entry into one of those bars based on his race and some BS dress code that is only 'selectively' enforced?

Fred's has done several things in the last few years to make the bar ummm...less urban.
They took out the dance floor/stage and stopped playing nearly as much rap.
They don't mind the regular African Americans that are friends with everyone, they're just trying to cull out the groups of creepy black guys that would get a drink and stand in a corner staring at the white college girls that are dancing, licking their lips and rubbing their hands together.

If you are a white boy wearing that shite you'll get turned away too. If you are a black kid looking preppy you'll step right in.
So... how is it racist again?

Edit: whether or not it's some kind of major injustice is another matter. Bars have to maintain a certain demographic in order to be successful. I'm sure they don't solely discriminate against blacks, although that would be the most common. You can't have a college bar full of 50 year old men either, and I'm sure they would face similar obstacles if they became more common frequenters.
Correct.
Its actually GOOD business. They know from years of running the bar what demographic spends the most money, frequents the most, etc.
Usually the trick is to attract the hot white chicks. Because wherever the hot white chicks go, the men who spend money on those white chicks go.

Bella Noche and Club Raggs are racist. They discriminate against white people by having shootings in there. They know it'll keep whitey out.

They aren't denied for their race. They are denied for their attire.
Now whether those dress code restrictions are mainly to restrict a certain demographic who wears those clothes, is something that isn't really debatable. But they can wear different clothes and get in.

This is bar business 101.
White boys spend money to impress white girls.
If white girls arent there, because they feel uncomfortable, dont like the music, dont like the atmosphere, WHATEVER reason, then there will be no white boys there spending their money.
No white girls = no white boys
No white boys = no money
No money = bar closes
Welcome to typical non urban bar economics 101.

Only a select group of people have to worry about being denied from a Tigerland bar because of their attire. The dress code for the bars in Tigerland screams “no trash allowed.”
There, I took the race baiting out, and made the article 100% accurate.

maybe one day we'll have White Entertainment Television or other groups specifically for whites like other minorities do

Exactly. It's just business. FYI, the athlete argument is stupid, because I've seen hundreds of athletes white/black out in tigerland in sweats, t shirts, and tennis shoes, so....

The Reveille prints this issue every Fall. In the Spring, the print the confederate flag issue.
It's been that way since the 1990s.
The Reveille is a joke of a paper.

forget which bar, reggies or freds, that had the "no mr. t starter kit" rule in regards to gold chains.
Hell, i got told a bunch of times to always turn my hat front side before walking in the bars.
