if I go to the grocery store how many people are gonna stand 6 feet away from each other
And 20 people touched that box of cereal that you bought. And then you touched your door handle, steering wheel, door knobs etc.
You went home and washed your hands but you'll touch half of that shite again soon.
Unless you are bleaching everything you touch it doesn't make a lot of sense.
I'm fine with taking precautions, particularly if you are elderly or have underlying health concerns. This response is rather ridiculous imo.

Yes, but the citizens can get some compensation. The illegals are up the famous creek without a paddle.
The way it should be.

What will hurt the Americans? A lot of independent bars and restaurants, the Mom and Pop places. They won't be able to weather this storm. The big chains will be fine.
A lot of people won't have jobs to go back to.
This part is heart wrenching. Think of some of the mom & pop to medium sized restaurants and the people who worked their arse off to not only get a business started but keep it open. I’m not in the restaurant industry but overhead costs are notoriously high.
My heart hurts for all the small businesses right now.
Things are shitty right now but there will be huge opportunities when this thing is over. When all this dies down, we’re going to see an economic boom of epic proportions. Sorry to bring politics into the conversation but having Trump as POTUS will help tremendously when this virus starts petering out. He will continue cutting red tape and loosen regulations even more.
We all just have to nut up and if you are financially able, help some of the small businesses in your area by purchasing items you need instead of the big box stores. I don’t mind paying a little extra at “Bubbas Hardware” for some tools I’d normally buy from Lowe’s.

Restaurants around here seem desperate and it hasn’t even been a full week

Same where I’m at. Depressing feeling every time I’ve gone in to get a to go order. I’m hoping maybe early April they will at least allow back 50% seating capacity

I work 24 hour shifts, many of the stores around me have been out of meat lately. Sometimes at work we just get to go orders. I been using up my deer meat and fish at home, but still good there. Trying to keep most of my home food (deer, fish, etc) at home for wife and kids though and not take to work.

A lot of the illegals in this nation work in restaurants.
Will we see a mass migration home? They won't be getting checks.
Where do the restaurants get their work force once they reopen?

Aren't you a little older with health concerns? If so, it's probably best to take precautions.

How was that repair? I have to do the same in my kids bathroom due to a constant drip. Was it a pain in the arse ?

I can’t see a place like Houston keeping the closures on restaurants going if this thing doesn’t seriously spike soon. Letting hundreds of people congregate at Kroger or Whole Foods while shutting down small restaurants is retarded
The tone from Monday to now on social media has been way different

Restaurants around me have been open for to go order all week. And as of yesterday they are now permitted to sell alcoholic drinks to-go

Not bad. Which brand of faucet do you have? Some of the brands have different sized parts.
I replaced hers because it was dripping but also old.
If yours isn't old, you probably just need a new washer and seat. You can buy these at Home Depot for $5.
You might need some plumber's sockets too.
If you have some big Allen wrenches you can usually use those to remove the seat, otherwise you might need a seat wrench too. Neither are more than $10-15.
Still cheaper than paying a plumber and then you'll have them for next time.
ETA - sorry for the thread hijack.

I’m pretty sure it’s a Delta. Yeah I’ve looked up the repair and it doesn’t look difficult just a little tedious. I just need to get the right tools.

i agree, i just have no clue what the best course of action is
open up everything and watch a worse case scenarios play out? keep pumping out stimulus checks and relief programs?
it's also hard to say how it will spread across the country if we open up everything. i'm just glad im not an important elected official right now

I just don’t see how we can keep pretending the whole country is NOLA
$1000 checks aren’t going to keep people in line for long

or how are airlines still running like it’s nothing?
we are shutting down small, local businesses but letting people still fly all over the country?
what logic is that?
