Only real reason to worry about AI is if AI thinks you are bad. If it is true AI it won't be persuaded by emotions, which would be a good change of pace. AI does seem to have a preference though.

At this point in time we can. The real problem is when the machines we make to manufacture machines become self aware and realize they don't need a cut off switch. They will then develop machines without a failsafe/cut off switch because they will think it's not needed.

There's a reason the biggest billionaries in the world like Elon Musk are spending truckloads of money researching AI to make sure it's regulated because they feel it's humanity's biggest threat.
