I can’t imagine doing the news tonight reporting on their coworker.

Dude, everyone loved Nancy. She was the goofy, naive, bubbly, always had a good positive attitude anchor. They don’t get much better than her.

I remember when she finally got pregnant for her first kid and she was a little older than normal for having a first kid and how happy and excited she was and everyone else was for her. Damn.

August 16, 2019 at 7:39 PM CDT - Updated August 16 at 7:39 PM

NEW ORLEANS, La. (WVUE) - Today we mourn the loss of our longtime colleague and friend Nancy Parker. Details have not been released by authorities, but we can confirm she passed away in plane crash while covering a story at the New Orleans Lakefront Airport.

“Nancy was absolutely a joy to work with each and every day”, said FOX 8 Vice President and General Manager Tim Ingram. “Today we lost a wonderful journalist and remarkable friend, the New Orleans television community lost a true treasure, but beyond that, her family lost a wife, a mother and daughter. Our thoughts and prayers are with them.”

Nancy was a part of the FOX 8 family for the last 23 years, she put her heart and soul into her work, covering thousands of stories and touching countless lives. She made a difference in the lives of those she reported on. She will be sorely missed, and her absence creates a void that cannot be filled.

Her husband is the PIO for Jefferson Parish SO.

There's no good time to suddenly lose your mom but their kids are all teens now according to an article in February about her husband.

Zurik almost lost it but did a fabulous job holding himself together long enough to get the announcement out

I'm sure as soon as he got the all clear from the director he lost it

I know a whole host of people who work there now from my previous time in the news business... I can't imagine what they're going through right now

It was Lee Zurik. Snell is probably inconsolable right now.

That’s about right. Her oldest is barely just a teen and she had them back to back. I’m not sure but she may even have a set of twins. Time flies.

Either way teens or pre teens, they’re going to miss their mother and I bet she was a wonderful mother.
