Turo. Much better rates and a good selection of vehicles (depending on where you’re renting).

I live in Florida now, but I’m coming back to New Orleans end of July to visit. Thought I’d fly and rent a car. Checked rental car rates…average $145/day. Crazy! I’ll drive instead. I would think this situation is costing airlines big money. Just sharing…

That must be airport gouging.

My work car broke down while traveling in East Texas last week and I got a 6 day rental for $350. And it was a pretty decent car.

Use Turo baw. Airbnb of cars. At the moment, better rates.

THIS. Just got back from Denver. Cheapest car rentals were about $150/DAY for a tiny econobox. Via TURO, got a 2020 Kia Sportage AWD with navigation, bluetooth and a sunroof for $135 TOTAL for three days. Easy process, too.

I just reserved a car at MSY for 3 days through National. I did use my company contract but I got a premium (Maximum or like) w unlimited miles for $60/day. A little higher than usual but not horrible.

I just booked our car for Sept for $32/day for a mid size suv with Sixt. Maybe it's bc it's far out but we'll see if they have inventory when I arrive. I didn't see any issues with prices.

Some airports like Tulsa charge stupid amounts of taxes, it may pay to take an Uber to a rental place away from the airport.

Yep paid $1200 for a week rental in Bozeman MT when we went to Yellowstone a month ago. That was for a Buick Enclave. Tahoe would have been $650 a day…

ETA this trip was booked months in advance prices are stupid on everything. Hotel room prices have risen as well.
