Same. But I see a few were spotted, hopefully nobody hurt. I guess the rain has finished now so up and time to get ready for work! Glad you are ok and no issues.

Mornings like these remind me of the time the derecho hit BR (2015 I believe). Was working downtown at the time. Never seen anything like that in my life

Shortly before Ida, the company I worked for was bought out by a parent company in Minnesota. They had no idea the impact hurricanes can have, the fuel shortages, etc. They were asking us to go back to work like 2 days after the storm had rolled through. We had to explain that many of us in Louisiana had not even been able to shower for 3 days in intense heat and the majority didn't even have power.

Multiple people driving the wrong way on I10 in those shots.

What a society we live in that they have to put themselves ahead of everyone else and keep driving.

I worked for a company in Colorado when Francine hit a couple years ago and I took off the day before to get things in order. I needed to pick up around the house, fill up gas cans, fill up the generator, get some food, the usual stuff you do before a hurricane that just takes damn near all day.

Well my boss called me the day of the hurricane and was like, “are you able to work now?”. I laughed and said absolutely not. He goes, “well are you still preparing? You were off yesterday and you should have it done now”. I professionally reminded him that the hurricane was literally starting to ramp up at that time and that I was with my family, and that if I needed blizzard advice I’d ask him but until then, I knew what I was doing.

frick him. I told him I was out of power for three days just to have the rest of the week off even though it returned the next day. I found another job two months after that.

So was I. I watched it roll in from the 11th floor until they made us go into the stairwell. It was black as night at 9am until it turned green. I'll never forget it.

Was working in Broussard at that time. That was one of the coolest weather events I’ve ever experienced.

Yea that derecho morning was something else. My first born was not even two weeks old yet and my wife and I were legit scared huddled in the hallway with a breastfeeding baby. We didn’t know wtf we were doing as we were brand new parents then 9:00am turned to 9:00pm and the trees in the back yard bent at 90° angles. Don’t know how they didn’t break. I watched through a window from the hallway and my heart was racing!

Glad all of your doom casting was completely wrong. Stick around for the rest of the season. You’re the antidote for the Peej curse.

I’m not an expert but is an elevator shaft the best place to be during a tornado?

Probably the most secure spot. The house is 20ft up in the air

I needed you when someone screwed up this elevator and we had trouble finding someone to work on it

I guess I don’t know much about elevators.

So you’re sheltering from a tornado in an elevator shaft with a questionable history that has needed to be worked on.

May the odds be ever in your favor!
