The issue is easier revenue generation if laws are already on the books making distracted driving a crime.
Surprised they didn’t include making it illegal to drive with a passcode locked phone for the officer to check the time of your last text or call.
Next they’ll probably pass a new law making it illegal to drive with no gas.

Louisiana doesn’t enforce the law. Last week on I-12 I was passed by a car where the driving and passenger were both texting.
