No, our health institutions just admitted last week that they didn't even test the vaccine to see if it actually slows the spread of Covid. That's the only reason many millions of us got vaxxed, because I didn't fear the virus past April 2020 save for how it could harm my older loved ones. That's a major crime against humanity, possibly the biggest since China's Great Leap Forward. We will not know the actual results of the vaccines for around a decade.
Sorry, they're all fricking liars and even if the Black Death is here I will not believe them until I can see it with my own eyes. They did this, not me. It's still the official line from the government that it came from a wet market when it nearly 100% came from that lab which we have receipts of Fauci financing the EcoHealth Alliance through Peter Daszak to make chimeric coronaviruses derived from bats and pangolins in Wuhan. Does that virus sound familiar to you?
Boss I'm not disagreeing that there are a lot of systemic issues that have appeared from the lockdowns and vaccine or that it likely came from a lab. That's why I said while I still agree with my thoughts from back then based on the context (at that time we didn't have a loss of faith in those systems) that if it happened today I'd have to have a lot more understanding/faith in the data and rationale. If that was verified though then yeah.

Ok. Even in that thread, only a very small handful of posters touted the "if we don't do something, millions are going to die" line
You are correct. That was a small number.
I’m talking about the number of people who fully bought into the “2 weeks to flatten the curve”.

Well, we can all agree to not to go along with this kind of establishment pushed mass hysteria again... Right?
I think once a generation should be reminder enough.

Seems the medical community panicked and politicians follow suit.
Government should never be able to force legal businesses to close, and for people to not be able to support themselves in the way they choose, and have.

Posters may have believed that it would only last a few weeks, but that is far from supporting the lockdowns.
Like I said, you are mostly conflating people arguing with you about other things as supporting the lockdowns.

That support gave all further lockdowns legitimacy.

Believing something would only last a few weeks does not equal supporting something.

They've tried with 1/6. I just don't think many are really that concerned.

You did support it, during the start of the pandemic when most of the damage was done.
That's when they needed the least amount of support.
I get your support waned, I think everones did at some point.

They will ramp up the lethality of the next virus, which will ramp up the fear levels. They won’t give up.

I think war will be the next emergency. Doesn't seem climate change is doing it to the public like Covid, and people are wise to Covidian overreaction by now, or they should be.
I figure the bomb will be the next big fear this winter to take people's mind off of the high energy costs. Gotta fill their mind with something.

The outright lies with regards to deaths "by covid" and the extent to which hospitals would go for the "covid-positive death" federal gimmedats. Absolutely disgusting.

On this issue alone, no one should vote for a Dem again.
The Republican Governor in my state closed down every single state park and sent rangers in to pull people out of the campsites.

My favorite part of 2020 was when the public was informed of government funding to get through the pandemic and how funds would be available within 24 hours. The best part? It took another few months to just sort out how that would work and who actually qualified. What a disaster. Fun times!

Ours shut some businesses down. I didn't vote for him the first time, not doing it now.
Local and state govts absolutely benefitted from federal cash.

i try to cut haughty people who won't have a rational conversation or be open to correction and understanding out of my life. i'm 40. i have a great family and great group of friends. while i still need to be making the gospel known, i don't have time to suffer fools.
I’m not saying there weren’t weak Republican leaders who went along. I’m saying it’s Dems who wanted the shutdowns and mandates. Dems are the ones who wanted the lockdowns and mandates to continue. And it is Dems who still want covid regulations now.
Plus, it was the Dem teachers unions that pushed for school closures and pushed that they continued for as long as they did.
That’s not even getting into all the Dem shenanigans over covid and the elections.

You did support the initial lockdowns and you wanted people to comply.
