Regardless of size, this is why I Always tell people to leave. It’s not worth it.

Hindsight is 20/20 but this storm moved and escalated quickly. No house is worth my life or a family members.

When I read about the guy in prairieville who passed, RIP, I just wish he could’ve left. I know some cannot afford to, but anything is possible in the storms.

Prayers to those affected.

He could’ve died in a traffic accident while evacuating. You just never know.

Thanks, I’ve only been able to get storm news from TD and FB and channels dedicated to weather since I’m in AZ.

While that is true…in some situations it should be pretty damn obvious to GTFO. Like those people that stayed in Grand Isle (excluding those that had to stay like first responders)

At some point….just because you “lived through Camille” doesn’t mean you shouldn’t evacuate.

Yep, plus some just like the thrill of riding it out. I get it.

The gubmint bitches about "having to rescue" people when they don't give a shite about you.

I’ve got some big oaks in my yard too close to the house. I get nervous every time a storm comes through

I understand many don't have the funds to evacuate 8 hours away, get a hotel room, etc, but at least set aside a few hundred bucks to be able to buy enough gas and some McDonald's to drive out of harms way, sleep in your car, and drive back the next day. It doesn't cost that much to evacuate for 1 night. It's sad how many Americans don't have any savings and maxed out credit cards.
