Well, they wouldn't be refugees. They would legally be asylum seekers. A refugee is allowed to return to their home country after said disaster. An asylee is forever barred from their home country in threat of exile from where their seeking asylum.

In theory, the burden of proof is high for the asylum seeker to prove that it is an unavoidable fact that they'd be killed returning to their home country.

I'm with swarms. I may be a heartless pos, but I always see this shite about giving money to these countries like Haiti after a disaster or saving children in Africa. No thanks, we have enough of our own problems in our own country.

If that's even the point he's trying to make here.

One group is full of murderous terrorists from a violent, war torn region and the other group is mostly from Syria.

Either one, we don't need them.

I'd rather live next door to the average Syrian refugee than New Orleanian. Louisiana should be welcoming these people with open arms.

What about the Fugees? Lauren Hill got locked up, Wyclef did alright for himself, but what about the other one?

By most conservative estimates there are 5% of the Muslim population that are radicalized. Syria would be higher. So you want a minimum of 500 radical Muslims brought into our country that are not citizens? With absolutely no reliable way to vet them? BTW people fleeing to the Superdome were evacuees.

evacuees:
a person evacuated from a place of danger to somewhere safe.

as opposed to:

refugee:
a person who has been forced to leave their country in order to escape war, persecution, or natural disaster.

You know what makes me want to vomit? This administration wants to bend over backwards to let these people in but go take a look at how any war veteran is treated? Almost a year for some to get a fricking appointment with a doctor. And this is AFTER all the abuse was brought to light. Yet these refugees will be able to get immediate health care. Screw that.

Has any Syrians torn up another country's equivalent of the Superdome?
