They’d rather THEM be the ones in charge of the government spending to improve it. They want power and other people’s money

But keep building crappy and the homeless on the streets so they can keep complaining about the crappy buildings with no business and how the homeless aren't cared for?

of all the things wrong with criticizing gentrification, my favorite is the fact that most of these neighborhoods were white 60 years ago
That area were the Red Stick Social was not.

There's a pretty simple contrast between the two camps when it comes to development.
One group gets together and makes investments to rebuild an area of town and the other is lobbying to get the government to lure a grocery store into their part of town.

The 'long view' of these folks is about 2 weeks. Note the complaints that one hears about this robust economy. "It's done nothing for me" or "I can't see no change". As as if a robust economy is going to suddenly transform generations rather than look to the Future about how lower taxes can help them but they have to have a job for lower taxes to help them and they have to try to move upwards. You can't move upwards as long as people are just giving you things.

By posting the apology they’re pissing off the people that would agree with the code in the first place as well as drawing attention to it to piss off the people that are calling it racist. Bad PR, who are they pleasing here?
Agreed. Apologizing for something that shouldn't have ever been considered offensive in the first place is a bad look.

What is their position on screaming out chants about sucking dick?

They sound miserable. God forbid a place of business doesn't want saggy pants.

This is fact, and a project to rebuild Old South Baton Rouge north of LSU (that had the backing of the city council representative for the district, members of the community, Mark Emmert and other LSU brass, city leaders, money-backers, and investors) was completely torpedoed a few years ago because the state representative for the area didn't get her palms greased.

Wasn’t there a long thread about this with a clear image of the code? Or was it on PT
I made it. It got baleeted.

Those on the receiving end of constant handouts cannot see how enslaved they really are.
Thanks LBJ.

Did it get deleted because of the girl who gave back literary masterpiece?

Would people rather have drug addicts and abandoned buildings instead of businesses that bring in taxes to the city?
Helmut complained that it “pushed out a homeless community”...meaning junkies shooting up in an abandoned building

Certainly not this old thing...
There once was a girl,
A girl who gave back,
Yes some things she'd keep,
And some she'd unpack,
To know what should go,
Well she just had the knack,
There once was a girl,
A girl who gave back.
One day in the forest,
She trod off the track,
And found there two turnips,
One white and one black,
From the ground then she picked them,
Threw the white in her sack,
The dark one she tossed out,
This girl who gave back,
Next she came upon two fowl,
They'd honk and they'd quack,
So the white goose she picked up,
And tucked in her sack,
But the black duck she chased off,
Kicked it with a smack,
Then she went on her way,
This girl who gave back,
Then she found her some children,
Who looked trodden and down,
And one was quite fair skinned,
The other quite brown,
"I'll love you both forever!"
The darker one frowned,
As she patted her own back,
And blabbed all over town,
But then life got hard,
For the girl who gave back,
So she went to her children,
Said "one of you must pack"
"I like things when they're easy,
So cut me some slack."
Can you guess who remained,
With the girl who gave back?

Sounds like they did everything they could
Make it expensive. Put it in an old warehouse without velvet couches and neon. That usually works.

"ALL guest should be neatly groomed"
How embarrassing that you would have to make this statement to your patrons.
Is there an over/under on shootings at this fine event?

The Hipsters and SJW’s will call the gentrification of mid-city as racist and use the Red Stick Social dress code as a red herring.
