Red Light Camera Malfunction?

Last week I got one of those red light camera tickets from the light at Airline and Goodwood. I don’t remember running any red lights. Today, another letter comes in, and i thought it was a second notice but it’s for my son’s car (the car is in my name), same light. Neither of us travels through that intersection on a regular basis, and neither remembers running a red light. Any of you receive a similar letter? Either the light is malfunctioning or it’s a very strange coincidence.
ETA i viewed the video for my son’s and the light was yellow while he made a right turn, he was totally out of the frame for at least a full second before it turned red.

Sounds like you and your son need to slow down or get off the roads.

There should be a website where you can go watch a video of yourself running the light. It should have it on the "ticket"
You don't have to pay those anyway though. Just toss it.

Click the link and watch the video.
Did you turn on red without coming to a complete stop?
The link will show a photo of the vehicle, and a video of the incident.

I suggest throwing the letter in the trash or wiping your arse with it and mailing it back.

Right in the trash. You don't owe anyone a thing.

Don’t they have a link in the letter and a code for your specific video? See if it’s your car.

Use it for TP instead of the three shells.

I don't even open them anymore. They go from the mailbox to the shredder.

My wife has a number of them, several are from 4-5 years ago. It doesn't go on your driving record, credit report, anything. Nothing happens at all if you don't pay it.
If they ever start enforcing them somehow I'm going to have to set up a payment plan

Toss the notices in the trash. frick all that bullshite, if crime isn’t bad enough in BR residents don’t need to put up with that red light camera crap.
They’ll send out a second letter that’s more threatening in nature from some contracted law firm demanding payment.
Your license cannot be suspended for non payment of red light tickets and your renewal status will not be affected. It’s all a fricking stupid game.

Just did for my son’s, and he pulled up to the light, slowed to a rolling stop, and turned right. Thing is, the light was yellow the whole time, not red at all. He was completely out of the frame by the time it turned red. I’m going to look for mine. I may have actually tossed it already lol.

I have one of those as well, granted I definitely did drive through a red light but it was a right turn
All I can find (and yes unfortunately most of my research is via Tigerdroppings) is that these shouldn't affect your insurance rates or credit, and shouldn't prevent you from renewing your license or having issues at the DMV. From what I've gathered they can boot you but this is only really done in New Orleans.

I can help you out in a few short steps. Fortunately this happened to me recently and i was able to successfully deal with it.
Step 1: Take the envelope, and all of the contents that were in it, and throw it in the garbage.

Make them prove that it was you driving.
That was the downfall of the cameras here.

That’s another thing. On my son’s video, it’s almost dark and hard to see the car. They must have used some kind of enhancement on the close-up photo of the license plate because it’s not visible in the video or any other still shots. Plus the light wasn’t red. I wonder if we should just toss it or try to report the error.
