I paid the first 2 years. You do get a wristband and free beer in about 30+ bars on Bourbon street.

Oh to be in my 20's again. rDR was the shite when It was in the warehouse dist. Meatheads from Denham springs ruined this great day.

More importantly I don't think people want to go hang out in the marigny. There will still be a huge crowd in the quarter which was that made the event fun.

Well not on the first few block of Bourbon st. This place is a mess now.

Red dress run is so 2009

It's probably been that long since I've been. I remember crossing the ferry and walking around the quarter with everyone wondering what the red dress was about.
I'm glad it got big, because of the charity, but it's not my thing anymore.
For those still interested in a smaller scene with great food and drinks, check out Scales and Ales.

2008 was a shite show, they had flat bed trailers lined with a tarp and beers that would pull up in front of bars. I think that was the year the guy fell on the over hang on Fulton St. and almost died.

I remember that. It's because around the same time, we were running into bars with a few hundred people served by 2-3 bartenders. The flatbeds full of cans was much faster.
That was well before they started running just down bourbon.
We ran into a trooper in the beginning of the race. He had a map of all the locations and the route so we wrote it down and ran out of the bar just ahead of everyone else to avoid the crowds.

2008 rdr was my favorite race of any type. Sooo much fun. Ran my arse off from stop to stop just to beat everyone to the bathroom and bar.

We went and ate a Tujaques after the looks we got were great. If you were still out there after sun down there were not many people in red dresses there were a lot of people asking questions.

Did the run and day drinking, walked home to shower and toss on my seersucker or linen and walked back to Royal for events

Since they moved it, I think I'm just going to donate 20 bucks to them and drink in the Quarter.
