Transmission went out on the Honda mini van.
I've always heard Honda transmissions were POS's
Now I'm finding out first hand.
What transmission shops are best in the Prairieville/S. Baton Rouge area?

Hell I need one too, my 2005 Chevy Silverado won't shift out of second gear

My transmission went out in my 2004 Honda accord. I brought it to a place in cloverland off airline by that restaurant / simple Simon. They did a great job and gave me a 36,000 mile warranty. Never had a problem again the whole time I owned that car. Don't remr the name of the place but it cost about 3K. He said it wa one of the worst he'd seen. Had to basically rebuild the whole thing.

Not sure if it's the same owner, but Interstate Transmission on Gardere was always a good guy, did good work.

I can hook you up with someone. Probably won't need a transmission rebuild.

Won't shift or loses gear when it goes to third?

Morris Transmisson. Nice fella.

Was going down road, TCS light came on, then check engine light.
At the next stop light, I gave it gas. It slipped going from 1st to 2nd, then D4 green light started flashing.
Next stop light, The RPM's revved up, but van didn't move
I'm assuming the torque converter is out.
It finally started moving, but felt like a slipping clutch.
Pulled in driveway, and it wouldn't go anywhere
I let it sit for 10 minutes, and it started right up and drove fine for 60' up the driveway.

Classic honda. Gets hot and looses clutch. Probably looking around 2100-2500 to rebuild it. Whoever does it make sure that put the updated sonnax valve in the valve body. It eliminates the overheating problem.

Classic 4l60e . 3rd gear clutches are burnt. Looking around 1900-2300 to build it.

I would most appreciate it, if I could somehow avoid the full cost of a transmission rebuild it would make my day

It's a problem on 1999-2004 odyssey and v6 accord/acura. Had the issue on my 2004 odyssey byt my 2001 v4 accord and 2007 odyssey are both fine

Oh hell no, I see a trip to you pull it in my future

If it's revs up and quits pulling when it shifts to 3rd, only a rebuild will fix it.

Yep, trans fluid smells like axle grease.
Can you recommend any shops in the Highland/Airline area or Perkins/Airline area?

Highland car care is right there, I don't know if they do transmissions. The owner is honest and not overboard on prices
