That street and area is straight hood. No student should be living or walking there

this is a common occurrence at the University of Memphis campus, too. and basically anywhere in Memphis proper.

Maybe have competent city and state leadership that don't tacitly condone warzones in our flagship university.

I lived on west Roosevelt for a year when I was 20. Such a stupid idea.

I've already informed my 3 that LSU is not an option, and I'm an alum. In fact, I don't even want them in this state. My family's Louisiana lineage will end with my generation. As much as I'm going to miss them being at home, allowing them to somehow grow roots here will highlight my failure as a father.

The Standard and Ion apartments are both right there. They are pretty new developments.

Students walk down Aster & Alaska/Cypress Dr all the time.

It's a shame that Louisiana's flagship public university is flanked by a war zone.

Please avoid this area, officials added.

How long before LSU buys up all the property between campus and downtown? It's a complete abomination to put student housing on the west side of State Street and not warm out of town parents sending their kids here of what lies a couple feet away.

I was told when I was at LSU that LSU owned property along the river all the way down to New Orleans, seems like they could make a trade and pay for relocation?

LSU is more focused on Ole Miss and Bama coming up than on improving student's safety or increasing the value of its real estate footprint.
