They mad. If they had shot him during the struggle this would be over. Wrong! If he didn't turn around and fire the taser he wouldn't have been shot. Probably true, Does that make any difference? No. Could they have just escorted him home? Not unless you change DUI laws. Does any of this matter? This is not going to go away. The genie is out of the bottle.

I haven’t followed closely until this morning

What time did this happen?

Does anyone have clarification as to how long he had been out of jail?

Was he on probation?

I have tons of questions that probably don’t matter like did he have a valid drivers license? Car insurance?

Incredibly stupid take, he wasn't given the death penalty.

He engaged in stupid behavior which cost him his life.

No different than if he had decided to skydive without a parachute.

Try again, Mindweaker.....

Atlanta District Attorney said that he watched the videoS and that "Rashad was respectful and peaceful during the sobriety test and has no idea how that could escalate to his death" AKA that poor cop is screwed.

Paul Howard, the Fulton County DA, needs to shut the frick up and worry about his own arse. He's got major personal legal trouble right now and the best thing he can do is stay out of the public eye.

Is Tyler going to pay to rebuild the Wendy they burned down in his honor?
Will he repay the Texaco for the windows broken and merchandise looted?
Will he restock the Liquor store they looted with more Schlitz Malt Liquor 40's?

AGAIN, these are elected officials, folks. This man has been in office, and gotten re-elected since 1996.

"Three past or present female employees have sued Howard, alleging harassment or discrimination. The GBI is investigating his use of a nonprofit to funnel at least $140,000 in city of Atlanta funds to supplement his salary. The state ethics commission accuses him of 12 violations."

All cops need to just resign and let the assholes have exactly what they want. A police free state. If I'm a cop, I'm not risking being sent to prison for doing my job. The idiocy reaching the point where people are legitimately arguing that they should have just given him a ride or let him walk home, tells me all I need to know about how fricked we are.

DA Paul Howard is listed as the Chief Officer of People Partnering for Progress INC, a non profit that includes:

-DA Community Prosecution Program- to reduce teen violence and improve community relationship workshops and community meetings
-Gang Intelligence Program -Established platform to capture critical gang related data to share between the District Attorneys office and the Atlanta police department
-First Urban Prosecutors Summit - Panel conference to identify and address the challenges of gang activity in the community

The big problem? At no time did he disclose that he is the Chief Officer of this non profit organization. That is where the ethics complaints come from. Also, it is alleged that he used the money to throw galas and parties for his political campaign.
His non-profit lists a total of $146,699 for, I think, 2017. He is accused of funneling $140,000 to his personal finances.

Me thinks that ol' man is ready to bargain....

I'm interested to see the toxicology report. Most drunks don't fight quite like that and take a taser shot with no affect.

He came to life awfully quick, though, when they attempted to cuff him. Xanax/alcohol would explain the passing out and behavior when questioned, but fighting like that may have been difficult.

That mayor, if she even cared at all for her city, would immediately make a statement with facts. But that mayor chose political expediency over truth and justice as soon as she heard the news. She's an entirely useless waste of breath now. She failed on this one and the sane people of Atlants should demand she step down immediately.

You should have seen her when she was running for mayor. Every time there was a dog bite incident involving kids, and at least one child was killed by a pack of wild dogs in areas that never recovered from the 2008 recession, she would be all in the news posturing for legislation to be applied to all dogs in metro ATL. It was such faux showmanship and the proposed bill was illogical. If Brooks hadn't driven drunk, much less passed out in a drive through, none of this would have happened. If he hadn't run, it would not have happened. There won't be any police to serve and protect at the rate this is going. It's not unusual for people drunk driving the wrong way on ATL interstates to kill other motorist, it's not like drunk driving doesn't matter.

Basically you process 0.015/ hr so at peak he was just shy of 0.12.

The way he was delusional doesn't seem to jive with that level of intoxication.

Do we have toxicology yet?
