How the frick would someone competently do this unless they actually went through each and every curriculum? Not to mention, the first two years for all engineering majors are basically the same classes and that's when most of the weeding out occurs. And thirdly, it probably varies from school to school and which classes you take.
This is exactly how I see this debate

Started out in chemical... have degrees in electrical and civil.
frick organic chemistry aight...so chemical is the hardest. Electrical ain't so bad if your good in math. Mechanical is certainly up there...courses are ball breakers.
In the real world... Civil/structural engineering is no joke. The size and scope of the projects can be massive and widely variant... and putting a set of construction documents together for a large bridge, high rise building, petro chem plant, underground tunnel or Tiger Stadium expansion can be daunting.
The process people are some smart (and generally weird) frickers. But they don't usually deal with plans or contractors. Mechanical engineers... ah frick it I won't say it... shite's getting too long.

As a ChemE I feel qualified to say that electricity is fricking magic and EEs are basically sorcerers.
Not a single ChE class has truly busted my balls yet, but I just could
not
get
that entry level EE stuff we learned in physics and the EE course we had to take for the FE.

Half of the way through circuits this semester, and all I have learned is not to slide my socks across the carpet and touch metal

OChem reactions just make sense with electronegativities and shite. Electricity defies logic.

Any ranking that doesn't include Nuclear doesn't include the hardest. I am guessing LSU doesn't even offer it?
Nuclear should be at the top of the list.
nuclear
This group is really about the same, just depends on your interest:
chemical
electrical
mechanical
aerospace
biological
petroleum
Barely Engineers:
civil
LOL, go play with your spreadsheets:
industrial
