In the middle of the night, sometimes Cox will just shut off internet service to our apartment, and they give us no warning or reason why. I called last night, irritated and they are crediting me some of my bill back as well as hooking us up with 30 days of free cable, but still it's annoying. This has happened like 3-4 times in the past couple months. Anyone else have this problem?

Off of Jefferson?

They were doing some work there last night. They shut mine off around midnight or so.

Could be worse. You could have Uverse and be out of service all the time (with little to no reimbursement/discount).

No on Brightside by LSU. They told me that most of the block didn't have internet last night for an unknown reason and they were fixing it. It didn't come back on til about an hour ago.

Yeah I heard uverse is a nightmare in certain spots with very bad customer service. But the price is better, but I guess you get what you pay for.

Let's just put it this way.

The SO canceled her service 3 weeks ago and she's still getting calls to set up an appointment to fix the problem that they were trying to fix before she cancelled.

This is an issue that happens all over Louisiana at night

I have a feeling cox knows what the issue is as it would be hard to ignore complaint after complaint for several years

They will ask you to reset your modem and do this and that knowing it wont work (as im sure they get hundreds of these calls nightly) which coincidentally would give them a reason to send a tech out $$$

My only guess is that their infrastructure can't handle the traffic at peak hours when all guys are watching porn at night and the girls make FB posts about whatever shitty netflix show they are currently streaming and obsessing over

It would set off my alarm in the middle of the night every time it went off and I would shat my pants every single frickin time, so I got my alarm Co out and they made some adjustments. They said cox does their upgrades\maintenance at night and do system restarts.

what do you mean!? cox says they have no idea what the problem is but they can send a tech out to look....during the day....when your internet works fine

I would get a Cox internet outage maybe a few times a year, if that. Since Sunday they have had an outage once or twice per night.

The guy from Certified Alarms told me it was. K own problem and Cox knows about it. It's when they do their system maintenance that requires a system restart and it causes your service to be interrupted.

I mean doing it at 3 or 4 in the am is okay but not 11-1 o'clock in the area by LSU. I don't understand that reasoning.

Why would anyone pay dollars? I've had problems in the last week and they came and fixed it and I don't get charged. I've used Cox for 18 years and 10 months (since I told the lady I was a good customer and she told me how long - cool tidbit) but I've never paid anytime a tech has come out.

I live on the west side of mississippi river (Iberville Parish) and we (as in my neighborhood) get cable outages, I would say at least once every two months, however; at least once every two weeks I have to call Cox to get my cable box reset. It often freezes up. This past weekend, all of a sudden I went to change the channel & the channel number would pop up on the screen & it would freeze, then a minute later it would all of a sudden switch channels. Cable gives me the most problems.

A few weeks ago our internet & phone line was out when I got home around 4:30ish & later that night I fell asleep before the services were working again, I just know when I woke up the next morning it was working and I fell asleep between 9PM - 10PM. Ive seen directTV & a local cable company at several houses around me, over the past several weeks.

During LSU baseball season, our cable went out minutes before one of the super regional games started. I am not a huge baseball fan and while I was disappointed I couldn't watch the game, it wasn't that big of a deal, but if it happens during a football game then that would be the end of Cox for me.
