When did this, is it considered to be trashy, gimmick start?

No clue. But it's beyond worn out.

We used to put dip our pizza in French dressing growing up. Never did the ranch thing.

Ranch is the trashiest salad dressing for sure.

Speaking of salad dressing, what ever happened to French dressing?

Nothing classier than a gourmet salad from Val's Marina with French dressing.

Now you have me trying to remember the movie that made fun of that. Was it Trading Places?

you're not living a real life unless you're dipping your pizza in ranch or blue cheese and buffalo sauce.

Canes is delicious but I don't eat the sauce. It's disgusting.

Canes = not trashy
Canes sauce = trashy

I know "trashy" judgments on the OT should never be questioned, but how is Mayonnaise trashy? It's an essential condiment for sandwich structural integrity as well as a very versatile ingredient that makes or breaks many dishes.

I don't do it because i am an elitist pizza purist. But my kids love to dip the crust in ranch. And if my 6&9 year olds do it, it must be awesome
