Ran over neighbors pitbull

(This is not a joke thread)

The pits bulls are never on leashes and they don’t have a fence.

Neighbor a quarter mile down the road has 3 pits bulls. 2 big black pit bulls have came down onto my property twice before. One time attacked my brother in laws dog and nearly killed it, had to get stitches ect. Second time came down again and had to beat the dogs with a weight to get them to stop attacking. Both time police were called and they didn’t do ANYTHING. Even the pound didn’t do anything when they came down.

Now the 3rd pitbull is a white one and they just got it. This one attacked my dad while he was walking (on the public road). He comes to my house to walk because of the peace and quiet out here. He called the pound and they didn’t do anything. I think he screwed up by not calling the cops. I was away at work and couldn’t handle the situation.

Well the white pitbull always runs out in front of the vehicles while driving down the road. I was told before by the neighbor to not stop if they do it again. So what did I do today? I kept my speed and low and behold I hit the white one and felt a nice double thump from my 35s. Stopped the vehicle and saw the dog limping back to the house. Waiting 3 or so minutes for neighbor to come out but never did. I would of got out but I would of got attacked. So I drove home like nothing happened.

Thinking of reporting damage on my truck with my insurance and sending them the bill. Any advice on what I should do?
