Get you some Valium if you can.

Don't buy any more beer, take a few weeks getting out of the house and doing something where you wouldn't normally drink.

If you get the shakes real bad, go to detox. You could die.

Good luck

Never said that I didn't think that I'm not an alcoholic. I'm just hoping at this point that I can quit and work without major withdrawals

Is tapering an option

I don't see why not. Just try drinking 11 one night, then 10 the next night, then 9, and so on until you get to 0.

are you on any medication, or you just self medicated with beer?

You should probably see a professional, honestly.

I do too. I'm 38. Sometimes have shakes that last til 10 am or so. Weigh less than 180 lbs. Total cholesterol is 160. Might die in my early 60's if I keep it up. So says my doctor. Never lost a job in my life and currently making 90k plus.

I would say that it is a damn good idea for you to taper off a bit...honestly, as I see it, you have to either back off on drinking or you are gonna die pretty early.

I drink 3 of the 25 ounce cans of Budweiser & Clamato Picante every weekday after work. Usually 4 of them on Friday night. I probably average 6 a day on Saturday and Sunday.

Not quiet as much, but I feel your pain. I've had my 3 for the night which is like a six pack of Budweiser and I still feel sober.

Go a week without drinking one.

If you try and are unsuccessful, post a new thread and receive other options.
