I'm coming up on my tenth year anniversary. This is my Second marriage the First one didnt last near as long. Almost everyone in my office is on their 2nd marriage and all seem to be very happy. I'm starting to wonder if a first marriage is almost a certainty to end. How many baws on here are still on there 1st and how many are on their 2nd or more??
Curious what was their age for first marriage

First, 28 and counting, won’t be a second. Long marriages are more about commitment than happiness, which is why second and third ones fail more frequently. If you jump ship once and don’t drown, you are more likely to do it again when the seas get rough.

First. 37 years. She died in my arms a few months back. Best person I've ever known.

Shite, why not. I already blame the ex, but I'll pass the blame around. Lord knows it wasn't me. As every other ot'er, I'm damn near perfect.

1st and it will be 14 years in November.
We’ve both had moments when we were at the breaking point. Understanding, sacrifice, and commitment is the key.

1st. Coming on 4 years. Great marriage, don't see it ever ending.
My advice to younger people is to do 3 things before getting married:
- Have lots of sex with the girl to make sure you're compatible and she actually likes sex (and with you)
- Live with the girl for a year or so
- Share a dog with the girl so you get a sense of each other's level of responsibility and ability to raise something with another person
Here come the religious wackos that will tell me to wait to have sex until marriage...

Agreed.

I'm a Christian and was raised in the church, but I think with regard to sex, the church gets a LOT wrong.
Sexual compatibility is so crucial. Being so culturally set against premarital sex has a huge potential to hamstring two people who are trying to do the right thing but setting themselves up for potential failure.
It was a huge decision for my wife and I given our upbringing, but taking the premarital sex plunge is probably one of the best decisions we made.

First, but I have only been in the game for 10 months.

Plus, if what they say is true, there was no going back for her.

I got divorced, first marriage, in 1995. Haven't remarried and I don't think I ever will.

1st 11 years in August.
I’ve road out the crazy this long and know what to expect, why risk having to learn a while new version of crazy.
