95% of teachers are paid fairly or overpaid.
There are a few who are top notch and are underpaid.
Government entanglement and teachers unions prevent true merit based criteria for compensation.
There are a lot of teachers in my wife's family. They all complain about not being paid enough. Hell, most teachers I've known do. I tend to keep my mouth shut. Haha.

Know any teachers who don't take work home with them on the weekends?
Most of the ones I know.

Most of the one I know and myself when I worked full time.

Know any professionals who pay for their work material out of pocket but NEVER get reimbursed for it?
Most small business owners and some others in unique positions.

If you guys think Teaching is easy, or it's plush job or not hard or anything like that, go sub for a couple of days. You'd change your minds faster than that new LSU helmet changes colors.
My mother in law, a few of my cousins, and some friends.
I worked in the nuke industry. I know people that work ridiculous hours in extremely stressful situations. They work most weekends, not just take it home. Your signature can cause a shite ton of trouble for you if you sign something that fails because you didn’t catch something during a test or inspection.
Ever been called by a parent at 2am and told to report to work immediately? Ever been placed on mandatory stay off alcohol and have to remain near your work location during your off hours because you may have to report to work immediately at a moments notice? Getting called at home and bitched because some work came up and they need you isn’t unusual.
I’ve met some speciality contractors that work on equipment that very few people are trained to work on that are home about 50 days a year.
Teachers have it very good. Quit your bitching.

I love being a teacher.
I knew what the pay was when I decided to be a teacher so I can't complain.

google searches. Average teacher salary is $56,000. But that’s for 9 months work. Extrapolate that over 12 months, and they are making the equivalent of $75,000 on average.
no, they are making the equivalent of 56. Exactly.
If they were able to find an employer willing to hire for just 9 weeks paying exactly their income during school, then and only then do they pull the 75g. There's no such job except if they teach summer school. Its not like some woman with school district 16 years is able to get farm work she could do. That 56 is avg including 30 years experience.
Most teachers take the 56k over 12 months so they don't have to budget to come up with the other 3 months bills.
