Questioning the logic of Covid-19 curfews

I’ve noticed that some places are starting to put curfews into place. To me, that seems counterproductive. If people are shopping at 2 AM, isn’t that what we want? Don’t we want the stores to have fewer people inside at the same time to slow the spread of Covid-19? People need provisions. If they have less time per day to purchase those provisions, that will hinder social distancing efforts.
Am I missing something in my reasoning?

Gotta flex those government muscles sometime.

Closing times for cleaning/disinfecting and restocking.

Curfews to me don't make sense. What does make sense is closing restaurants and bars other than delivery. People being out on the streets is not a problem. People getting together in close proximity and touching the same surfaces is the problem.
The stores themselves are closing to restock and keep up with demand/employee shortage.

Makes sense, I guess. I’ve been bringing a few wipes into stores with me so I don’t have to touch the screen, doorknobs, cart handles, etc.

Businesses like publix self imposed early closing times for disinfecting and restock. Martial law is stupid.

That, and we don’t need idiots out drunk in bars, getting in fights. Happened in NJ (I think Hoboken) this weekend and someone injured in a fight had to wait 30 minutes for an ambulance because first responders were dealing with illness. And this will only get worse. Police, fire, EMS need bandwidth to deal with this health emergency and not dumbfrickery.

Not saying right or wrong but by your logic wouldn’t imposing a curfew reduce the amount of time people are in close proximity?

Yes. Wuhan is its name.
Most important point in this thread.
I don't take anyone seriously that doesn't call it by its proper name.

The time would be reduced, but the concentration of people would increase. If stores are open for 12 hours a day versus 24 hours a day, more people will be in the store at one time, which would mean less personal space for each shopper.
