Question for OT Ophthalmologist

Some background, 25 years ago I had an artificial lens put in my left eye to hopefully correct vision issues. Unfortunately it did not take so I've been living with 20/200 vision in that eye and that's mostly because I know it's an E at the top of the chart. I haven't been seeing an ophthalmologist or really an optometrist regularly for the last 10 years or so. My eyesight hasn't changed at all in that time.
The question is, has there been any significant developments that could possibly do something to help my left eye? Is it even possible to correct an artificial lens?
Thanks.

Going to need more background than that to answer anything specifically.

The diagnosis was congenital cataract.

Same boat as you, had a lens implant about 20 years ago in left eye. Worked ok but over the course of time and doing dumb shite not good for eyes like boxing and BJJ, my vision in that eye got blurry so I went to a eye doc about 8 years ago. They tell me the lens has shifted out of position and I had to go see a specialist to get it reset and then I found out that yes, there are significant advancements in lens implants now which I have a long range lens at the moment.

Would need more info to give you an appropriate answer. How old were you when you had cataract surgery? Were you treated with glasses/contacts and patching after the surgery, and did you vision ever improve to better than 20/200 after the surgery. Does your vision correct to better than 20/200 with glasses or contacts, currently?
You probably have some degree of amblyopia in that eye, meaning the visual pathway in your brain did not fully develop, which is not reversible at this point. The degree of vision loss attributable to amblyopia versus another issue is something that would require a full exam in order to evaluate...
