I was going to say, this board and the south in general is just different from a lot of the country. There is way more likelihood I do something stupid with a gun than I fend off a home invader. I'm definitely thinking about gunning up, but people on this board get so amped up for armagddeon when things like this happen.

No, never regretted it. My home is well protected though and I live in a safe area so I am not worried about anything.
I'm not anti-gun or anything and I have no issues with anyone owning a gun, just never had the desire to own one.

I've watched an extensive collection of Kung Fu movies. After many hours of practicing karate in the garage I have no need for guns.

I hope more and more sane responsible citizens get a gun and get some training to use it safely and responsibly.
Can't stress the training part of this enough. Even though I don't have a gun I have been through gun safety classes and can safely shoot a gun if I ever need to. I think everyone should go through gun safety classes and learn how to properly and safely handle a gun.

Most of yall that have lived only in La. just accept this as a fact of life, unfortunately.
That's a load of shite.

Savage Stevens 12 gauge. It's $150 at Academy and fires everytime. Cheap and effective. Great entry shotgun.

Exactly. Just because little Sally that made that post is scared of guns doesn't mean the rest of the country is.

I would rather make a man retarded with a metal bat to the head than shoot him dead for entering my home

Never owned anything but a BB gun. Getting one soon

Not that it's relevant to me much but I got a 2nd cousin kind of uncle that shot and killed intruder coming through kitchen. No time to frick around when you got wife and 2 daughters depending upon you for protection.

Jesus, where do you people come from? I don't know anyone who doesn't own a gun. Whether for hunting or self defense.

The best thing that a normal person can do to protect himself from a violent situation is to remove himself. Engaging with a firearm is often the wrong choice. Sure, there are situations where a person may be pushed to it as a last resort, but these situations for an average Joe are very rare. Unless you are putting yourself in risky situations. Which I don't.

Sweet world traveler. LA is the only place people think they need a gun. Sure, I believe you.
