Cause my goa-tee makes me look tough.....grrrrrrr
I grew it just for kicks and my kids hated it. I shaved it off and they begged for me to grow it back.....and the lady of the house likes the look on me.
I just use a 3n1 body wash by Nivia.

What beard specific products do you use (if any) to prevent beard dandruff?
A) use a different shampoo and conditioner than you use on your head. Your beard hair is different, it requires different care.
B) Don't over wash it, it damages the beard and dries out the skin only need to wash it every 3-5 days.
C) Products. I use Bert's Bees Miracle Salve as a beard balm/oil. It's thick enough to shape the beard, while having enough thinness to work into the beard completely. The honey smell is a little over powering for use for the first hour, but others can't really smell it. It really, really does a nice job on my beard. Better than any oil or balm that I've used.
As far as shampoo/conditioner, I use Pantene Anti-Breakage. Does the trick nicely
That's all I have time for right now. I'll edit or reply again to add some more later.

Not quite, it's more hipster than Ed Hardy was. Hardy was always worn by douche's who thought they were still highschool/college athletes, despite being 35.
Your general point still stands however, and it is the only thing that makes me want to shave mine off, or st least trim it way back. I have had a beard for 10 years, obviously well before beards became what they are today.

I have a mustache and gootee, and I use Professor Fuzzworthy soap and Honest Amish beard balm.

Explain people who are clean shaven in the summer and have a beard in the winter.
thats whet i do
summer is too damn hot to have hair on my face, but i grow it every winter. thinking about leaving it thru the spring but we'll see
my wife likes it, so there's that
it does make me look old, as it's 100% grey

Shave twice a week? What are you, 12?

Twice a week? I'm scruffy after 24 hours.
