When's the best time (price wise) to buy a plane ticket?

2 months away? 3 months away?

About how far off from flight is the ticket the lowest price?

Thanks

1-3 months out, unless you're looking for things like Hawaii or Europe in the summer. If you see a good deal for those places, take it when you see it.

Don't book on Saturdays or Sundays, aim for midweek as that's when fares are normally at their cheapest

I fly every week. Book a month in advance on a Tuesday in a private browser.

Like others have said on the timing. Digging deeper Tuesday's and Wednesday's are usually both cheaper and less crowded.
