Thanks to both of you. That was my guess, but you can't find much info on that simple of an upgrade, likely because people generally want more than just enhanced SQ.

I think fads don't last 30+ years.

Will throwing a few hundred into higher quality speakers significantly enhance sound quality? I just don't know anything about car audio or how bad stock speakers are. I don't care about bass.

Definitely. Did this to an Accord years ago and sounded good. But you should spend a little more for small amp/eq. THAT will make the biggest difference and doesn't have to be fancy.

2011 f250 with a couple Sundown 10's on a soundstream 1200 amp. It's really not that loud on the outside of the truck and I have no rattle. The "premium" audio that came installed actually sounded terrible, I started upgrading speakers and went full retard. still have the stock look but I can feel my music and it sounds a lot better.

This is the same thing as older people on the Rant complaining about the current students. Acting a fool was cool back when it was them doing it, but the students today should be more mature

What? I can't hear you over the sound of my awesome bass.

If it's too loud, you're too old.

I have to admit, I really miss having aftermarket gear in my vehicle. I used to actually enjoy listening to music when I go places, now I just put it on ESPN, and if a commercial comes on, I just turn the shite off and drive. There really is no comparison listening to music on a good system vs. factory dog-shite.

The Infiniti has a Bose with a sweet bass tube and amp in the trunk. Joap installed it.

It's gangsta yo. Don't hate.
Diddy comes through loud and clear.

I for one love it when an urbanite pulls up to Circle K with his car stereo blasting and trunk rattling and leaves his car running and goes inside with the stereo still on.

You'll certainly get more clarity out of your music just by switching to aftermarket speakers on a factory system. You could do it one set at a time and see if you think it's worth it. A fairly meager investment in just replacing the front pair would improve the sound and let you decide on doing more later.

I ain't gonna lie, my factory system in my Silverado sounds pretty good. But my front door speakers no longer work, and I need to get a new set. Got any suggestions?

I've toned it down to a single pioneer downfiring 10 in my Jeep. Really don't need more than that in a small vehicle. But I do have aftermarket speakers so I can crank it with the top down and still hear it on the interstate.

Because rolling around blaring music directly effects those around you... Not that hard to understand. Its the same as saying you wish people would stop smoking around you.
