Question about wearing a mask

If I am in a store and I can smell some lady’s water Mellon bubble gum who is standing 20 feet from me while wearing my mask. Doesn’t this kind of defeat having to wear a mask?
If I can smell her watermelon bubble gum, surely I can contract her droplets through my mask right?

Not that you really GAF, but the issue (at least per CDC) is that the virus adheres to water droplets emanating from folks' breathing orifices. Those droplets have a range of about 6 feet. The mask slows down those droplets, and, by extension, slows down the spread of the virus at close range. Whether you agree with that or not is another thing entirely, but that's the actual, stated reason for masking per the CDC.

Hey, nice. Is that not a constant in regards to masks and how particles behave when a person wears a mask? Can that not be stated as a verifiable, scientific fact?
Of course it can.
So....being that what you said is undeniable science, why did the CDC and the good doctor Fauci spend the first few months insisting to the American people that masks were useless in regards to Covid?
