Question about US90 in New Orleans. Super interesting.

If you follow US90 west into New Orleans, you find yourself on S Broad Avenue. The route then goes left on Tulane Avenue, and then right on S Claiborne under I10.
But here’s the thing. There’s no left turn allowed from S Broad to Tulane Ave, meaning if you want to follow that route, you have to take a right on Gravier, then S White, then Tulane. I happened to do just that yesterday, but I didn’t notice any US90 signs. Am I missing something? This seems inconsistent with the US Highway system.
Yes, I’ve lost sleep over this.

US routes through cities are mainly about certain grades, etc. streets must maintain, not necessarily routing, since they aren't primary routes anymore.
Maybe not actual not being able to travel the route crazy, but I've seen routes go really stupid ways.
ETA: looking at the map looks like to stay on 90, you go West on Broad, South on Poydras, West on Claiborne
