re: Question about the Algerian shemale boxer:

IBA president Umar Kremlev said Khelif was "proven" to have XY chromosomes, which sparked outrage throughout the sports world and beyond. XY chromosomes indicate that an individual is male. However, certain conditions can allow a woman to present XY chromosomes.
As a man, if you can't see the difference between Carini and Khelif or any other "actual" female then those of you in here defending it aren't a man either
. There is too much lgbtq(ism) going on in this thread by 2 or 3 posters in this thread
. The "it" shouldn't be allowed to fight as a woman because "it" is "not a woman". Every other woman in the Olympics who are boxers "all" are in one clear category EXCEPT one other boxer and that is Khelif. Sad I even got downvoted 14 times for knowing when a woman is "not a woman". "All regular women do NOT have what Khelif has"
smdh.

So obvious that no one cared or noticed when she competed in the 2020 Olympics.
And hardly anyone is "defending it". They are simply saying that it isn't a trans situation.

Assuming the current reports are correct (XY, non expressive Y, female presenting physiology), I don't have strong feelings either way on how this shakes out. With that said, I do find it mildly amusing that the standard "conservative" line of "boys have a penis; girls have a vagina" has apparently become extremely unpopular with "conservatives" all of a sudden

Weird because you said anyone that couldn't see she was a man wasn't really a man

Cool. Did you read the OP?

I guess you're technically right. You didn't use the word "trans":
quote:
Boxer is a male fighting as a female or whatever you call this atrocity. Somebody need to beat the f out of this pervert and the enablers of this demon. No father would accept this dude hitting their daughter. Smdh.
They are lying about his situation/anomaly. If she doesn't have a vagina, it is not a woman.
He was also not allowed to fight at world championships because she is a dude.

So what is Khelif by definition?
Posted on 8/2/24 at 9:21 am to BET
No one knows exactly because none of this has been made public. You can speculate if she is an XY female or intersex or something else.
Or you can believe that Algeria, a country in which trans is literally illegal, sent a trans person to represent their country in the Olympics.

According to you she's an "atrocity", and a "pervert".

Intersex.
Assuming what is being reported is true, trying to square peg/round hole them into a sex binary is a political or cultural exercise, not a scientific one.

It is scientific insofar as it needs to be determined if her elevated levels of testosterone give her and true unfair advantage.

Something along those lines
You forgot male chromosomes..
Posted on 8/2/24 at 9:28 am to LegendInMyMind
XX chromosomes
Typically associated with female sex and reproductive organs, and usually assigned biologically female
XY chromosomes
Typically associated with male sex and reproductive organs, and usually assigned biologically male
So explain to me which one "it" is? If you cant then it shouldn't be boxing against women.

Of course, but that's not really a sex question as much as it is a competition question. The Olympics are a bit of their own animal, but for the most part, we don't actually divide athletes by sex in the US; women are perfectly welcome to compete in what we call the men's leagues, but are more accurately open leagues. Within those open leagues, we exclude people who take certain substances which give them an unfair advantage over others. We then exclude people as a categorical from other classes of leagues to give others a chance to compete on a level playing field. Historically we've based that on biological sex, but there's nothing saying we can't further define that.

Your wording didn't make anyone's heart hurt; it simply outed you as overly and irrationally emotional regarding the subject.

frick you. I truly, truly hope you never have a kid with a similar issue. I hope no one in your immediate family or circle of friends has a child with a similar issue.

What she "is" doesn't really matter at this point.
If her test levels are higher than normal female standards, she shouldn't be allowed to compete.
Which mean she will likely have to take test blockers to compete. Test blockers are terrible for your health, so she will likely not do that and be effectively banned from boxing

This whole debate is funny because we literally went through all of this in T&F not that long ago

It is one thing to be ignorant. It is an entirely different bag to be ignorant and hateful. You're not alone, though, there's plenty of it on display with this particular issue.
