There are plenty of aluminum free deodorants out there...however, not a very big selection of antiperspirants.

Soak in a shite ton of oxy-clean for like 8 hours. They didn't completely go away, but it did salvage some nice shirts.

The real danger of the aluminum isn't to your shirts. It's getting cancer from it.
Ever wonder why the incidence of cancer is on the rise? It correlates with the increased use of anti-perspirant over straight deodorant. (Yes, I know that correlation doesn't equal causation.)
It has LOOSELY been linked to MAYBE being a cause of some cancer (mainly breast) and Alzheimers.
However, none of that is proven.
Also, cancer being "on the rise" is a bit of a misnomer.
Cancer is most commonly associated with aging and with modern healthcare humans have begun to live much, much longer thus living long enough to become the ripened age that makes you more prone to most cancers. Also, before modern healthcare, we often misdiagnosed cancer as other ailments or general “failure to thrive” in older people.
I’m not saying more people don’t get diagnosed with cancer in modernity, because they do, but the reasons are not what you think for the most part.

i will say it took my body about 2 weeks to 'adjust' to the non anti-presperant back in the day and i was actually kind of horrified that it did.
i've been using old spice for probably 10 years now and haven't had a hard yellowed tshirt in that time. the tshirts now fall apart and are still soft and white.

I don't think there is a single topical anti-perspirent that is FDA approved to stop sweating besides the aluminum based ones.

If it doesn't have aluminum in it, it won't stop you from sweating. It might make your sweat smell different, but it won't stop you from sweating.
I've been using mitchum invisible solid forever, and I've never had any sort of stains on my shirts whatsoever. But then I wear a t-shirt as well. Whatever my wife does to those works... Tide and Clorox, I think.

Deodorant DOES change the chemical makeup of sweat to remove the odor.
Anti-perspirent stops you from sweating but doesn't usually affect odor.
The two combined is most effective, but apparently the latter is bad for you AND your shirts

whatever you say. i say i live in a pretty humid climate and for the first 2 weeks or so after i stopped using anti=preseperant and switched to deoderant only i sweated buckets of water under my arms.
after that..nothing. i get a little damp if i'm working hard but in the course of a day at the office, i never have wet pits now just using a deoderant.
its like the anti-presperant crap made my sweat glands go crazy..scary shite.

Man, undershirts are a must at the workplace. If you tuck them into your underwear they don't poof out your dress shirt and they actually make it fit better (at least for me). Also, it stops the wet pits. I hate when I've had 4 cups of coffee and raise my arms in a meeting to write something on the white board and I have white pits.
And yes, tucking undershirts into my boxers makes me feel like a goober or my dad, but that shite works.
ETA:
I never wear undershirts unless I wear a button down dress shirt to work or formal events.

I dont' really care one way or the other about deodorant vs antipersperant. I'm a creature of habit so I've just been getting the same brand for a while and it happens to be an AP. But I'm certainly no averse to switching to deodorant.
I work in an office so most of my daily life I'm not really sweating much anyway.

FYI, you being in good shape from cycling helps to sweat less. You have lower resting blood pressure/heart rate.

Also for cat or others....I was cleaning out some drawers the other day and found a ton of shirts from my early college days that brought back some great memories. Most of them are white shirts, only issue is that they almost all have bad stains. Is there anything that can be done considering how long they've been set? My hope is that since the shirts themselves are white, I can go ham with some sort of chemical concoction and apply just to the isolated areas.

i was sweating profusely the first week or 2 and was about to give up on it and then suddenly it was like someone turned off the faucet.
i think your arm pit sweat glands were 'conditioned' to having aluminum paste interfere with their function and it took that long for my body to readjust to life without that crap getting ingested into my lymph nodes.
