Question about Colleges and Majors (No, it's not about SU)

When going to college, I was always informed to stay away from liberal arts or fine arts majors. Is it really true that they have a more difficult time finding employment?
Also, is it true that LSU and LA Tech are considered to be the toughest public universities in Louisiana?
By tough, I mean academically rigorous.

Yes but not as difficult as many on this board claim.
A bigger issue for those majors is that the earning potential is significantly lower than other majors. Engineers for example can feel comfortable that they will make six figures eventually in their careers. English majors can't say the same.

The term you are looking for is directional schools. Southern, for example. Avoid those.

Here is a link detailing “return on investment” as it relates to degrees.
Getting certain degrees, without going further (law school, med school, etc.), severely limits lifetime income capabilities.
Biology is on the list. Without going beyond that undergraduate degree, you are severely limited.
The others are primarily liberal arts.

When I’m hiring for a high paying, skilled Position, the first thing I ask for is their preferred pronouns and if they majored in gender studies.

It doesn't matter what your major is as long as you have taken the classes necessary for your chosen career or the prereqs for further schooling.
It's the people that think any degree will allow them to attain a high paying job that are the problem
