We've been sitting here for 2 hrs trying to leave

We were parked by the other runway essentially really close to the tower.

That was a huge clusterfrick over there.

My mom and sister parked off of barriere. They are already on the northshore and we just crossed the Mississippi.

I really liked the old jet from the 40s that flew right before the Blues.. was it called the Vamp?

The de Havilland Vampire. The world's second jet engined plane and first single jet plane. I think they said there's only 5 left in existence and 3 of them are American owned. I really liked it also.

Here's my pictures. Didn't get many pics of the Angels because I video'd most of their performance.

I was amazed at how quiet it was compared to the modern aircraft. If im not mistaken didn't the pilot say he owned all 3 in the US.. I know I heard him say that there's one in Houma..

Anyway.. that demo was awesome

I'm pretty sure I heard the pilot say that the plane was on loan to the air show from whoever owns it and that there were 3 of them in the entire USA that are air-worthy. But I could be wrong. Hard to hear the narrations when the planes come by.

But it was quiet as compared to modern jet engines. Another part of the conversation I heard was the pilot describing how in that age of jet engines, they were basically large turbos like you'd see on today's turbocharged vehicles and that's why it was so quiet.

Still, amazing to see 70 year old technology flying like that.
